Thursday Night NFL Free Bet

The Game: Minnesota Vikings @ Lose Angeles Rams

The Side: Vikings -3

The Total: 48

We move to Week 8 of the NFL season, and just twice on Thursday Night NFL has the underdog covered. This week the Vikings are the favorites on the road in Los Angeles taking on the Rams. While the Vikings have demonstrated dominance through seven weeks, they’re only favored by three points.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota was served their first L of the year on Sunday. The Detroit Lions came to US Bank Stadium and took over first place in the NFC North. It was a tight game, however the Lions won by two despite a nineteen-point second half from the Vikings. Losses happen in the National Football League, and that certainly wasn’t a bad way to lose. Nevertheless, there’s no need to downgrade Minnesota in the power rankings after that performance.

The Vikings now have an easy rebound spot. Minnesota heads west to take on a Rams team that cannot put things together.

LA Rams

The Rams are 2-4 on the season, and even in their win on Sunday, they looked less than stellar. LA hosted the Raiders and failed to cover the spread, winning 20 – 15. That game was their opportunity to turn the season around. While they did win, Stafford only managed 154 yards on 23 passes, calling into question his ability to make a playoff run.

While some may not want to count out Los Angeles after the epic comeback they had last season, making the playoffs after starting 3-6, nothing about this iteration of the Rams look as capable.

Thursday Night NFL Free Bet: Minnesota -5 (+138)

In conclusion, total combined interceptions is one of my favorite prop plays, but the odds seem off for this one. Bettors can wager on both quarterbacks combining for 2+ interceptions (+110), or bettors can just take Stafford to throw 1+ at (+106). Stafford has thrown a pick in three consecutive games, and the Vikings lead the league in INTs. This may be my favorite bet of Week 8.

Matthew Stafford Over 0.5 Interceptions (+106)

The Bets:

Minnesota -5 (+138)

Matthew Stafford Over 0.5 Interceptions (+106)
