Thursday Night Football Sports Betting Plays of the Day
New England Patriots @ New York Jets
The Line: Jets -6
The Total: 38.5
I have four bets for tonight’s Thursday Night Football game. The (1-1) New England Patriots visit New Jersey to play the (1-1) New York Jets.
Opposite Expectations
Both of these teams are playing outside the expectations set for them in the offseason. The bar for the Patriots was very low as they were thought to be one of the worst teams in the league this year. However, they have held their own, upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and taking the Seattle Seahawks to overtime in Week 2.
Same old Jets
The Jets organization that always finds a way to screw things up. It doesn’t matter who’s on the coaching staff or if they assemble an Avengers-level roster. As long as they are taking the field in New Jersey wearing white and Gotham green, their ceiling will be mediocrity.
Some people, like Nuke The House Chief Profitability Officer, JASON PAGLIA, a.k.a. THE SPORTS KEG, thought Aaron Rodgers would turn things around for New York. To me, it looks like a repeat of the Brett Favre experiment. The Jets continue to spend money on what players used to be.
Aside from the late drive against the Titans that won them the game, there have been few signs that Rodgers is even half the quarterback he once was, especially given the tools around him. He admitted that playing his third game in 11 days will be tough on his body.
Back in January, the Patriots’ 15-game win streak against the Jets came to an end, but with Bill Belichick departing from the organization, it’s time to throw out the history books. A new era of this rivalry begins today.
The Plays:
Aaron Rodgers Under 215.5 Passing Yards (-113)
Aaron Rodgers to Throw an Interception (+110)
Run, run Rhamondre
There’s nothing special about New England’s offense. It would be bold to even call QB Jacoby Brissett serviceable. RB Rhamondre Stevenson is the one keeping this offense afloat, as he accounts for two-thirds of the Patriots’ trips to the end zone this year.
Last week the Jets held Tony Pollard to 62 yards and if they can do the same to Stevenson, it should be enough for New York to squeak out a win.
The Play:
Rhamondre Stevenson Over 16.5 Rushing Attempts (+105)
Same Game Parlay Time
As great as it would be to see the Jets lose to this Patriots team, that doesn’t seem realistic. However, it also doesn’t seem realistic that the Jets cover the spread. The line opened at (7.5) and it’s down to (6). Seven and a half was a great number for those who bet it, but not wanting to pay the juice to get it now, it’s time for another Prime Time Same Game Parlay.

Parlay: New England (+10) & Under 45 (-105)
