There have been heavy ebbs and flows to this NHL season. This is a league that typically demonstrates consistency throughout a season, however, things have been shaky this year, which makes NHL predictions a bit tricky. Take the Winnipeg Jets. They started off hot, 15-1 through their first sixteen games. Now they’ve played .500 hockey since then and are 27-11-1. On the flip side is the Florida Panthers. The reigning champs started 12-9-1, now they are 23-13-2.

These teams have identical records — 23-13-2 — and since the Panthers have not been dominant at home, they are only a slight favorite.
