Monday Night Football

Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers host the floundering New York Giants in the latest edition of Monday Night Football. Here’s your week 8 Monday Night Football Free Bets!

New York Giants

The Giants suffered a tough loss when they lost offensive lineman Andrew Thomas. Without Thomas, the Giants offense looked anemic in a 28-3 loss to the Eagles last week. New York committed too much money to below average quarterback Daniel Jones They’re also facing the consequences of consistently poor decision making by their front office. The rest of the season for the Giants will be a slog.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers made a controversial quarterback change to Russell Wilson last week but it seems to have worked.

Najee Harris has run for 102 and 106 yards in his last two games, adding two touchdowns.

Pittsburgh put up 37 points in their home win over the New York Jets last Sunday night. Now they get another opportunity to prove they’re legit in prime time taking on another hapless New York team.

MNF Key Matchup

For the Steelers to win they’re going to have to shut down the strength of the New York defense. The Giants unit is anchored by its D-line, predicated on them getting pressure up front.

If the Steelers are able to block the Giants and establish the run, we’ll see another blowout. If the Giants are able to get pressure on Russell Wilson and slow down the Steelers rushing attack, they have a chance to keep it close.

The Pick

There are two ways to approach this game. I like both of them. The first is to lay the points with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Giants are in big trouble losing their best offensive lineman, and the Steelers defense is not a team you want to face with a shoddy offensive line.

The second way to approach this game is the under. If the Giants are able to slow down the Steelers offense, this game will go under for sure. I don’t see the Giants putting up many points against this Steelers defense. I doubt the Steelers will get there and put this game over on their own. Lay it with the Steelers and add the under.
