Free Sports Betting Play of the Day for Jacksonville Jaguars @ Miami Dolphins

The Line: -3.5

The Total: 49

The Miami Dolphins open the season hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both of these teams believe they have finally found their franchise quarterback, as Tua Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawernce received new contracts in the off-season.

While both teams seem to have shored up their offense, the defense is another story.

The Vic Fangio experiment was short-lived in Miami, and after just one year they let the defensive mastermind go. While at face value, all the injuries sustained on that side of the ball were to blame for all the troubles the Dolphins had last year, inside reports say Fangio was at fault.

In addition to having a new DC, Anthony Weaver, Miami lost some key roster pieces in Andrew Van Ginkel, Xavien Howard, and Brandon Jones. However, time will tell if the additions that were made by Dolphins GM Chris Grier will upgrade what was a lackluster defense.

On the Jaguars side, DC Ryan Nielsen has taken over the responsibilities on defense; he’s implemented an entirely new system. Something had to give for Jacksonville. They had the 11th-worst offense last year and only 6 teams gave up more yards in the air.

It may take several games to see the effects of these changes if they lead to improvements at all. Given that both offenses are established and capable of putting up gaudy numbers, the over in this game is the easiest bet for sports betting enthusiasts.

Over 49 Points (-110)

Miami had far and away the best offense last year, and they only made improvements in the off-season. On top of that, there were only several games last season where the Dolphins offense was fully healthy. So with all their key players starting this week, Miami at home is an easy bet.

Best Prop Bet

Tyreek Hill is arguably the most dangerous weapon in the NFL. Last year Hill scored a touchdown in 11 of the 15 games he started and finished. While it’s not guaranteed, 73% is tremendous in the sports betting world, especially when the implied odds are only 55%.  So (-120) is the best odds bettors will see all season on this prop. Go ahead and take it, and if by some chance it doesn’t hit, just double down next week at better odds.
