Monday Night Football NY Jets vs Buffalo Bills
One of the biggest storylines in the NFL continues when the New York Jets take the field tonight. It will not be easy for the Jets, however, as they take on the Buffalo Bills. Will new Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich lead his team to a win in his debut? Who should you back to make a winning NFL Monday Night Football pick?
Buffalo Bills
After winning their first three games, the Bills have lost their last two games, albeit against 2 good teams. The Bills are on a two-game losing streak after falling to the Ravens and Texans. Of note, Bills starting quarterback Josh Allen has never lost three games in a row as a starter for Buffalo.
Injuries will be a concern for the Bills going into this game. The Bills will be without defensive tackle Ed Oliver tonight. Running back James Cook and wide receiver Khalil Shakir are both listed as questionable for tonight.
New York Jets
The Jets were the biggest story in football this week after firing head coach Robert Saleh for a 2-3 start on Tuesday. DC Jeff Ulbrich will take over. Ulbrich’s first move he made was to replace play-caller Nathaniel Hackett with Todd Downing. Unfortunately, as Raiders and Titans fans will attest, Todd Downing is not very good either. This is like going to Taco Bell instead of McDonald’s.
Much will be made of the new coach bump tonight. However, it is not the slam dunk pick that most people think it is. Teams that have replaced their head coach midseason are 22-16 ATS and 17-21 SU since 2003. So obviously it is a factor to consider, but it’s not a trend to just back blindly.
Tonight will be a referendum on whether or not it is Saleh or Rodgers that was the problem. Saleh’s coaching developed many of these young men for the majority of their careers. It’ll be interesting to see if there is pushback against Rodgers for getting their guy fired. If the Jets lose tonight, panic mode will be in effect in New York, so this game should have a playoff atmosphere.

Jets Offensive Line vs Bills Defensive Line
With Ed Oliver out, there is a great opportunity for the Jets to establish the run tonight. Running back Breece Hall has been quiet all season and the Jets will need a big game from Hall if they are going to get back on the winning track tonight. The Jets offensive line is going to have to give him opportunities and keep the team moving forward. For the Jets to turn their season around tonight, they’re going to need to run the ball effectively.
The Monday Night Football Free Pick
I like Josh Allen to get back on track coming off two losses tonight. Maybe the Jets would have been better served to catch the Bills riding high, but with the Bills feeling the same desperation. After two straight losses, they’re going to get the best effort from a Super Bowl-contending team.
At this point in their careers, Josh Allen is much better than Aaron Rodgers. I expect Allen to bounce back after one of the worst performances in his career and show everybody why he is the true MVP candidate. Prepare the hot takes by the New York media on Tuesday morning because Josh Allen’s going to get the win tonight.
