The Line: Nebraska -7

Sports Betting Play of the Day Breakdown for Buffs Vs Huskers Rivalry Game

The Buffs and Huskers. The two longtime rivals square off for the 73rd time this Saturday in Lincoln. A clear clashing of coaching styles will be on display here. This game is a classic and it’s going to be fun to sweat the Nuke The House free play of the day.

Coaching Contrast

Deion Sanders has garnered much attention the way he’s built his team.

Under Sanders, the Buffs used the transfer portal and a large amount of NIL money.

On the other hand, Matt Ruhle constructed his Nebraska team the way he always has. Look to his previous stints as a Head Coach and you will see a clear pattern.

At Temple, Ruhle won two games his first year but wrapped up his time in Philly with back-to-back 10-win seasons. As often happens, a bigger school came calling. In this instance, it was Baylor.

Again, he started from the ground up, winning only one game his first year. He followed that up with seven wins and a bowl game. Ruhle ended his tenure in Waco with an 11-win season and a Sugar Bowl berth.

My ratings make Nebraska closer to a 9-point favorite in this game.

Huskers Have the Advantage

The Cornhuskers are beginning to gel. That, combined with the play of freshman QB Dylan Raiola may prove too much for the athleticism of Colorado.

I expect that we’ll see his Huskers take a big step Saturday. Nebraska has the potential to dominate on both front lines.

Colorado’s extremely athletic trio we see in Boulder (Sanders, Hunter, Horn) gets the headlines. Where the Buffs struggle is on the offensive and defensive lines. This matters for the Buffs Vs Huskers rivalry game.

While I think -7 is a good number here, I bought it down to 6.5 at -130. This will give us some insurance in the case of a “back door cover.”

The Play: Nebraska -6.5 (-130)
