Week 15 NFL predictions

By JC Zargo (@daddyzargs)

Just four weeks of regular season football remain, but the one seed is still up for grabs in both conferences. One game separates the Lions and the Eagles in the NFC, and two games separate the Steelers and Bills from the Chiefs in the AFC. Things become very interesting this week as the Steelers face off against the Eagles, and the Lions host the Bills. If these games play out as I predict they will, this race will be even tighter. Here are my Week 15 predictions.

Game of the Week

The Lions barely made it out of the last two weeks having back-to-back three-point victories, but this week they face a far tougher opponent in the Bills. Josh Allen has been playing on a different level, he’s now (-400) to win MVP.

A strange but true stat: Josh Allen has never lost back-to-back games twice in a season. He’s always good for one a season, but he took care of that in Week 5. So coming off a loss in LA, he should have no problem handling this injury-riddled Detroit team. The Lions defense is decimated. Allen can carve up any secondary, but he’ll have a field day with these backups.

Best Bets:

Bills -3 (+162)

Josh Allen 275+ Passing Yards (+140)

Pittsburgh vs Philly

The line for the game in Philadelphia has seen some movement. It opened at (4.5) and went all the way up to (6). George Pickens’ injury is certainly bad news for the Steelers, but this team is incredibly strong. They’ll still be able to compete against the Eagles.

These Pennsylvania teams match up incredibly well. Philadelphia’s defense has been suspect this year, but their offense picks up any slack lying around. The Eagles have scored the eighth-most points this season, and they have the third-best point differential.

The Steelers have a solid offense this year, but their defense is the reason they are 10-3. Pittsburgh has the fifth-best point differential, they allow the fifth-fewest points per game, just .3- points behind second place — and most importantly they have the fourth-best run defense.

This will be a tight low-scoring game, picking an outright winner would be difficult, but taking six points is extremely easy.

Best Bets

Steelers +6 (-110)

Under 43 (-108)

Kansas City @ Cleveland

A Chiefs’ loss is the last thing needed to jump-start the conference race. Kansas City is long overdue for an L, and this win streak becomes crazier each week. Fading the Chiefs’ Moneyline is an easy way to lose your bankroll, taking the points has been extremely profitable. So while it’d be incredibly entertaining to watch Patrick Mahomes fall to the Browns, bettors should play it safe and take the four and a half.

Browns +4.5 (-110)

Best Bets Recap:

Bills +3 (-128)

Josh Allen 275+ Passing Yards (+140)

Steelers +6 (-110)

Under 43 (-108)

Browns +4.5 (-110)
