Thursday Night Football Sports Betting Plays of the Day
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins
The Line: Dolphins -2.5
The Total: 48.5
The Buffalo Bills head to Miami to play the Dolphins for Week 2 Thursday Night Football.
Sports bettors were sweating last week, as six of the sixteen games played in Week 1 were decided by one point or less at the spread. It was the type of weekend that would put even the most seasoned bettors on tilt.
Miami Dolphins
Dolphins fans were dismayed at schedule release when they saw this matchup. Not only did it mean they would have to travel to Buffalo in the winter, but by being played at night it meant they would not have the advantage of roasting the Bills with the Miami sun on the sidelines.
The line move on the total is fascinating. It opened at 50.5 and it’s already down to 48. Based on the adjustments both teams made at halftime in their Week 1 matchups, I wouldn’t dare try to predict the total.
The safe way to take advantage this game from the Dolphins side is targeting the run game.
On any day, Miami red zone back De’Von Achane is a great option to score a touchdown. Raheem Mostert has already been declared out and Achane should get a good run. But check the injury report, as Achane is currently listed as questionable. Keep in mind that if Achane sits Jeff Wilson would act as the lead back and rookie and Jaylen Wright would be his complement, altering my Thursday Night football play here.
Thursday Night Football Plays:
1 Units: Anytime Touchdown – De’Von Achane (+115)
0.25 Units: To score 2+ Touchdowns – De’Von Achane (+750)
Buffalo Bills
After what we saw in the Buffalo game on Sunday, bettors should stay away from Buffalo running back touchdown props. James Cook saw all the touches, but Josh Allen also used his own legs to punch in two touchdowns.
Cook rushed for over 70 yards against Arizona, and Miami allowed 128 rushing yards to Jacksonville. That’s enough data to jump on Cook’s rushing prop.
The Play
James Cook Over 60.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
Same Game Parlay
On Sunday against the Jaguars, the Dolphins failed to convert on fourth down twice in the first half. Those two plays, combined with a fifty percent conversion rate on third down made the game far closer than it should have been.
While Miami hopefully has shaken off the rust, we can easily say the same thing about the Bills.
Despite a horrible first half in Buffalo, they outscored Arizona 24 to 11. If that is the team that shows up to Hard Rock Stadium, the Dolphins are in trouble.
This should be a tight game. Accordingly, we’re going back to the parlay for a Thursday night special.
The Play: Same Game Parlay: Under 53 Points & Miami +7 (-110)
